My Parents Wisdom
Published by One Muslim under advice, parents, responsibility, wisdom on Monday, February 23, 2009I am here having sort of rebellious feeling towards somebody (which shall not be named). In the mean angry time, I managed myself just to cool down like, hence my feedback action is none better than just necessary. However, it was not mine, it was not me in the first place taught myself to be so nice. Should be somebody else who show me all of those values? That is it, all are comes from the words of my parents. That was my parents who told me years before to do this and that this in the first place. This is the knowledge (possessed with patience) which would leads to the good character for all, you and me.
Narrated Abu- Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "No child is born except on Al-Fitra (Islam) and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian or Magian, as an animal produces a perfect young animal: do you see any part of its body amputated?" [Sahih Bukhari]01. My parents told me to show love and full devotion/worship towards Allah and His will, to Prophets as His messenger, read the Qur’an, care for parents, to be good for the family and be friends with the community. No doubt this line is just clear, simple but takes a lifetime of practice.
02. They emphasized me to remember the short and easy Pillars of Faith and Pillars of Islam as well. These two pillars are the basis, both important for every Muslim like me in checking and re-checking my “Imaan” and my “Islam”. Its self evaluation everybody could handle.
03. They encouraged me to remember few short Qur’anic verse.
04. Love and do the will of God without doubt and without many excuses.
05. Leave what that has been described by God to avoid.
06. Do not just pray alone, find a friend and do pray together.
07. Dua and recite some “Al Mathurat” whichever I feel to do so.
08. Believe in parents and remember their good advice. And always try to seek their blessings in every move/decision.
09. Serve Allah by the concept of “Fardh”, knowledge, with emphasize on both Fardhu Ain (individual obligation/responsibility) and my responsibility for Fardhu Kifayah (community/social responsibility).
10. Family-sharing session, which is beneficial for me to share something, advised, reminded, suggested and be warned, for my actions which are sometimes my beloved ones would do the evaluation better than me.
11. Be concerned, remember to do the final self evaluation for all of my actions; and it must be done on the daily basis. Regularly just before the bedtime. Hope my actions are all good and would bring harm to nobody.
Such a good words, my parents has somehow done their religious responsibility on me. Hope so I could be much wiser when I remember all of these words and hope so when I have a family, I could also do the same; pass on those words down deeper into my child’s heart. Their wisdom is some kind of worth to remember. Thus I am here sharing with you.

Subhan-ALLAH akhi. This post here really makes me ponder upon the little good deeds that I have done for my both parents. I had almost managed to count each of the good deeds I've given them in return. But no matter what, their true love, good deeds, kindness and everything that helps to comfort me are countless and priceless. Honestly speaking, I cannot replace them even with the most precious expensive diamond in this world.
Anyway akhi, I'm so touched by some of your post here. You're such a brilliant writer. Keep the istiqamah going with ALLAH's blessing. Allahumma Ameen.
Do Update More!!
Barakallahu feeQ & Ilah LiQa~
Mas-As-Salamah!! (=
I admire the discipline behind your spirituality. The 11 principles you shared are beautiful. I guess after you have a lifetime of practice it becomes second nature to you. beautiful blog, beautiful words.
@ Musleemah
after reviewing your blog, I know you are just, good child. As compared to me, I am just nobody, always people around says I am good, I am kind and I am nice. Yes maybe they are correct, but that good, kind and nice, all are non related to religion, Islam to be specific. I know this because when I am sitting inside the mosque, I can feel that I am nobody there. For years of my life before, I has doing nothing for Him, but perhaps this blog (Stories) could be my small way, which I hope can lead me closer to the truth. Nice to see you here and around, As Salam Alaykum.
@ LLnL
you are one of the open minded person I met on the internet, and I like your way, you are the one who has no bias in reading something. Maybe sometimes, my posts can't avoid in showing some contrast, as we are differ in religion with each other and I am very sorry for that. But I hope that could never be a reason for your (and me as well) to be apart (in any way), dissimilarity sometimes is good (dissimilarity is to be shared, not to be argued), and could lead various people to a strong-greater place.
Spirituality is the essence here.. religion differs.
@ Babaji
just another savoir-faire
Your parents have given you some good advice.
"Be concerned, remember to do the final self evaluation for all of my actions; and it must be done on the daily basis. Regularly just before the bedtime. Hope my actions are all good and would bring harm to nobody."
How beautifully said MashaAllah! InshaAllah you'll do the same for your children!
You runs a high quality blog
All your thoughts are very beautifully put, I'm already a fan of your blog. Would love to learn more, please keep posting.
Mini. I am back :-) Casually keep visiting Stories from times to times for more updates (in the near future).
I love this advice. Your parents seem wonderfully wise, who would listen to this advice.
One muslim..Your Google adsense always come out with cristian ads. Could u find out how to avoid it..
@ Tulip, yes that is right, at the first sight I have no clue to fill the empty space so I leave the ad with all default setting. Since I listen and review all the comments here and seems I love you to be the Stories loyal reader, I already made a custom Islam and Comparative Religion Channel and applying ad filter (however please give Google some time to filter the ad) for certain direct ad from displaying something far beyond the Islamic tolerance (I hope non-muslim could understand this as well, I am not showing any discrimination; it is just not right to enter a mosque or church and see both Quran and Bible on the similar shelf side by side). Alhamduliilah thanks for your caring and quick notice regarding this sensitive issue.
Greeting to you.
salamun alaik.
at first i look at your ad..
i'm quit suprise when it was about the cristians..
then i read ur comments..owh..ok..
i thought u are a pretender..sorry for the doubt^^

(^_^)
@Izzah
There are more than just Christian ads being displayed. Eg: hindu, atheis, scientology, bahai etc. I sometimes want to remove the ads, but sometimes I feel curios about those religion as well; which sometimes I proceed and read those ads. Till now I decided to just let it be there for you and me reading something as an insight/ general knowledge on what is going on percolation the religion/spiritual topic.
More I know about other believers, more I appreciate my own religion, Islam. Weird but this is so true (at least for me my own).
